A mix of Giant Himalayan Nettle 50% and New Zealand wool 50%. Handwoven on a traditional handloom in Nepal. We import the wool from New Zealand, as it is known for its quality & best practices with regards to sustainability. This heavy woven upholstery fabric is perfect for chairs, sofas, curtains, headboards, cushions, soft furnishings, bags or jackets, elevating the room which they're in. It is also the practical choice as both wool and nettle are naturally water resistant and resistant to wear and tear.

DETAILS & PROVENANCE Growing wild in the eastern hills of Nepal between 1200 and 3000 metres, the Himalayan Giant Nettle has been used for generations around homesteads in Nepal to make fishing nets, ropes, mats, sacks, bags and waistcoats. The nettle fibre has been handpicked, processed in the traditional Nepali methods, hand spun, dyed and weaved together with a diamond pattern on a traditional jacquard handloom. This is a rare fabric of high quality, beautifully and lovingly made by highly skilled weavers in the Nepali Himalayas.
